I like the height. for big guys that crucial. Also, an optional forward fold out foot rest would be a nice touch.it could stow inside the chair and then pivot out on the front leg support. It might add too much weight though.

Those nails look cool. If you could join the boards in a way to hide the screws they would appear to actually be anchoring it together too.
