How to Build a DIY Fire Pit in Your Backyard – Thrift Diving

I have been wanting to build a DIY fire pit in my backyard for the longest time! I bought an easy fire pit kit and decided to build it with my middle son who stayed home for “Take Your Child to Work Day.” While this should have only taken 1 hour, it literally took us all day. HA! Working with your child, things will ALWAYS take longer, right? πŸ™‚ Anyhow, it was a fun day, and we finished it off by inviting over some friends for roasted marshmallows! If you’ve been wanting a fire pit in your backyard, it’s much easier than you think to build one! πŸ™‚

Great project Serena! It's great how you got your son involved for this project. I made one of these a few years ago. Got the kit from Lowes, and it has held up great. I decided not to use adhesive on my bricks because I wasn't sure If I might move the pit to a different location later. Surprisingly, the bricks locked in place very nicely and I haven't had any problems with them moving out of place. My kids and family love the fire pit. Thanks for the video tutorial!

Wow! Your son is adorable. Watching this with my son as well so we can build an outdoor fire place too. I heard Ohene and I’m like hmmm, is this Ghana Ohene? I heard your last name and I confirmed then I heard Kwabena lol. I also have a Kwabena, Katakyie and Nana-Ofosu. Will send my son( he has gaming channel here on YT called GALONTON ) over to your son’s gaming channel. Love all your projects and tfs.
