A couple layers of 6 mil poly tacked to the back of the wall and backfill. It will last at least 50 years.

At 3:21 the cap is shown screwed into the post… There is a second screw. What is that screwed into? Not the post? Looks like the rail? Must not be where the rails butt up against each other… thick rails.. No concern for drainage behind wall?
