Is it a requirement to slope the garage door floor? Thanks.

Jameson Cross says:

Why not put the garage door on the gable end. You won't need such a big header. Also, if you want storage above the garage, you should have a steeper pitch. At least an 8/12 pitch. A 12/12 is best. Put the ceiling joists 16" OC and make them 2×10 or better use I beam joists. They are lighter and stronger. Deck the floor 1st then put up the rafters. Much better use of space.

Thanks for sharing. What would be the difference in the footing/foundation if this same garage were to be two story?

Paul Cueto says:

Hello Greg, I’d like to build a garage with a roll up door in front and roll up in the rear making it a drive through. Can you show a structure like that.

Thank you

Paul
