How to Build a Home/Garage Gym on a Budget

A lot of you have asked about how I’ve built my home gym, and done it without spending a ton of money. Just a few key tools will go a long way and it’s worth the relatively small investment to keep fitness accessible and usable in your own home. Even if you don’t have a garage, some of these tools are still indoor usable for a small space.

hey Shen. i got a knee operation last December and slowly starting to regain my rowing. i added 5 Kg to my weight while being unable to row and it made me very sad. My wife bought me a C2 Model 2 and now im working my way back.

my rower is at the balcony of our apartment at the 37th floor…. great view, nice air, but no room for much more then the rower.. 🙂

Shane's take on car storage is great. Look's like my ride will be sleeping outside soon.

Great article, "…. keep the child penned up … like an animal!" Ha Ha!! I live in the UK and my garage is really tiny, even by comparison to my neighbours'. However, more than adequate for my Concept2, linked up to PC, programmable exercise bike, punch bag, a few dumbellsmedicine ball etc. I have a vertical bar bolted to the wall where all my exercise bands are linked to, so that all works. The one disappointment, aside from the small space, is that the ceiling is too low for Jump Rope, no problem though, I have a space on the paved area, near the garden, and do my skipping intervals on a 4' x 6' heavy duty rubber mat! 😉
