k brook says:

instead of crimping the fittings on and making them oval (which cant be any good!) Try sitting your tape measure on the floor/surface beneath it and extend the tape to hold the pipe in the correct orientation and lock the tape….

scratching the tubing does always work well when there's scratches in it. I'll stick to a sharpie.

richard wysham says:

Let me get this straight. There are fittings that only require a meat puppet's intelligence to install. So what do people need a plumber for? You use Sharkbite on your jobs, you're making your job superfluous. Go ahead. Just like when outfits like home depot and their ilk started selling fixtures. The real profit for a service plumber was in the mark up on materials. Now, the homeowner buys a k/s faucet from Home Depot, asks you to install it, and all you get is labor. The labor is just to keep you moving so you can profit from buying wholesale and selling retail. When the homeowner calls you and says "the faucet drips". What do you say? "Sorry, I can't help you unless you pay me my going rate" or " Not my problem. Talk to Home Depot"? Good luck! You'll lose customers so fast it'll make your head spin

cal brock says:

best video I've seen on YouTube in a very very long time. brilliant

richard wysham says:

I can not tell people how many times I've had a complaint about toilets 'flushing' themselves or the sound of water running intermittently at night. First thing I check are the Ball Cock valves in the toilets. If they are Fluidmaster's(black and grey with the float a cylinder that slides on the main riser)it is critical that the clip provided for the refill tube is used. If the refill tube is inserted inside the overflow tube and its end is below the water level of the tank when it is full, the valve will siphon water out of the tank until the float has dropped enough to come back on. Over and over, 24/7. So. Use that clip! It does no good to insert the refill tube into the overflow so that it's not below the waterline. The vibration of the water going through that tube will cause it to migrate down.

Gregg O says:

I've implemented every one of these actions several times while not only plumbing, but while performing every day tasks and found them all to be efficient in all aspects. One suggestion I would like to make involves a string line and a neodeum magnet. When the magnet is fastened to the end of the string you can lower it down into pipe or use forced air to retrieve anything with magnetic properties without dismantling everything costing you money and waiting time.
