The ONLY client I take orders from, the Wife, asked for a large rustic pallet wood clock for our new mudroom. Happy wife makes for a happy life so I made a GIANT DIY Pallet Wood Wall Clock! She was very happy with the results and I actually took the opportunity to make a few clocks so we can give a few away to our friends.
Kind of special that I got the pallet wood from some of the pallets that delivered supplies for the very mudroom that we will be placing this clock. If you haven’t seen our series of videos where we build and finish the addition you can find that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jPMOzMivB8&list=PLsk0VxaVqgZEG4H3IPW4rh0j3P_Z5b4OL
Not a difficult build, although working with pallet wood has never been a super easy process at least for me, but a unique item that looks awesome when you’re done! I used my Inventables X-Carve to cut the clock face pattern but if you don’t have a CNC you can still complete this project but you will need more patience than me! If you would like to make an Easel account, Inventables free software to draw stuff and run the X-Carve, you can find that and this Clock Project at this link:

Beautiful. Why not clean out the letters with brass brush or exacto knife?
The wife may give you the orders, but I have seen your shop boss at work. So I guess that makes two order givers, LOL
Great work on the clock Tyler! Thanks for sharing the video with us.👍😎JP
Awesome work Tyler! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Я подписан на Вас давно. И то что вы супермастер я понял давно. Но сегодня вы меня вдохновили. СПАСИБО. Тэйлор лучший
Tyler that looks fantastic 👌. Of all of the projects I have seen made with pallet wood this is one of, if not the best, of them all.
Thanks for sharing and God bless
Nice, Two question though – where did you get the orange gripper (you paint that) and where to get a clamp like the one you used to attach the clock face to the backer board.
Great job 👍 Tyler!
Had you used a downcut bit – you would not have had to sand all the engravings.
What's the difference between your old xcarve and the new one?
A tip for sanding in tight spaces, like those Roman numerals, is to use sanding "needles/pencils". These are readily available at many model building and craft shops. Typically one end is has a long tapered pencil like point and the other is mitered. Grit ratings can range from 100 upwards, and I usually keep 220, 300, and 400 on hand. To sand vertical sides cleanly to their flush base, I cut the needle in half using a bench hook to ensure a clean square cut.
Yet another great video. You got me to consider buying a CNC machine. Keep up the great work! Cheers
Great looking clock, and you have a great client. She seemed very pleased with your work 🙂
This is great!
Very nice job Tyler…….. 🙂
Attaboy Tyler….happy wife happy life!!!
Sweetness…project and you two!!
Great tip using the chamfer bit on the plywood backer board!
Egregious imperfections was my 80s rock band name 😂
Well Tyler like they say "Happy Wife Happy Life" like always great video
Excellent Job Tyler ! !….It's always interesting when you take extra or scrap pieces and create something unique.
Beautiful work! When you used the hypo to put the black stain in the letters to enhance visibility I tried to imagine doing something like that…I would’ve had black stain everywhere!
Nice work again Tyler!
Nice. Not a fan personally of cnc builds. Just not my cup of tea.
awesome video! but The Wife needs a name!
that is a killer clock..i have used those same movements from amazon on a couple clocks and that battery will last at least 2 years…good work
