Maybe I missed something…you put two screws in 90 degrees apart at the top of each upright/corner piece? Did you just measure carefully so they wouldn’t collide, or was there a trick to it I missed?

Simple and effective; my favourite kind of build. Another possible alternative for those without a band saw or table saw (like me) to rip strips is to simply buy 1x2s and 2x2s. It will just cost a little more.
Nice as always. I should have put the screw in the top rail from inside out instead off the opposite.
