been thinking about buying an arcade stick for awhile and ive decided nothing could be more intimate than making one. do you own a mass produced one? how does it compare in playability? it looks like this thing plays pretty damn good. good craftsmanship. Another question, do you prefer the arcade stick with the ball on top or the other kind? (thats what she said)

Where can I find wood that large and thick?
It does seem like a waste of wood digging it out, but God Damn is that gonna be tough. This stick's gonna outlive the maker's grandkids. That's what I think the dude was up to. There's many people I'm sure that would kill to get their hands on this thing.
The only flaw in the stick is the positon of the start and select buttons. They should be on the front, and sank in below the surface by about 2mm. This way nobody can hit them by accident.
Also, making the stick this way would make it insanely heavy, so it's not gonna move around on you screwing up your inputs.
If at all possible, could you show a picture of how you have the joystick mounted? Other sticks solve it with a top panel but this solution looks interesting.

This video is good but there is not enough information for a DIY video. Very disappointing. You could at least gave the dimensions and the type of wood that you use. You have the best video and the best end product but fail with basic DIY information.
