A friend of ours recently purchased a new home for his family. The floor layout is nicely done, but the bedrooms are a little smaller than they are use to. So they asked if I could build their daughter a loft bed that would hold her Queen-size mattress.

You have blocked her window and that's not accessible if there's a fire or intruder. Looks like more attention was spent on accessing both electrical outlets than possibly saving her life. Rethink the design.
How high is the ceiling in feet?
I am literally crying. I have twin 4 year old boys who climb everything. When I found one of them sitting on a standing suitcase I asked why…he said ‘Mommy, im not on your suitcase, I’m in my fort looking out for bad guys’…that is when I decided to replace their less than a year old queen bed with a loft. I have cried, stayed up all hours, bought s/!t ‘building plans’, been asked out by both Lowe’s and Home Depot employees, spent SO much money that my wraparound porch looks like some kind of Texas Chainsaw Massacre themed hardware store and THEN I search the name of the most recent plan I bought and found this video. I can’t believe how uncomplicated you made this and how well you communicated the process. I have felt like I’m engineering a new form of space travel thanks to all of the ‘wisdom’ I’ve been collecting on/offline. I think I’m going to return the hundreds of dollars of fasteners and piles of 1x10s and then come home and actually make this damn bed. I know this was long, just wanted to say thank you for the love of god please figure out some way for this vid to pop up when people search ‘queen loft bed/diy queen loft/etc’ and save the next poor soul who starts down this road. 🤗
