Arlo is great. I have one threw my cellphone company, doesnt need wifi. I have it with a solar charger hooked up to it. High enough to where they cant steal it unless they get and use a ladder.
I watched this video about 2 weeks ago. Today I installed my Arlo 4 camera system covering the 4 entrances to my home. Installation was very easy and so far, I'm very pleased with my purchase and the process Arlo uses. Two thumbs up, Josh. Thanks!
Dude your awesome
Security of my family and our home is my number one priority. With that being said, I wouldn't trust myself with a DIY kit. Leave it to the professionals and call a local mom and pop security company to install a professional system. Great video otherwise!
We have Kuna, similar to Arlo, but Viasat internet is SO SLOW, AND SKETCHY. that the wireless cameras won't connect without going through a bunch of reconnecting and sometimes never connects. Looking at a wired system but install is a pain. Good advice on the lighting, I like the alternating light trick, good stuff. Thanks.
Just stumbled across the channel a few days back and I've been hooked, love what you're doing Josh!. Just purchased an Arlo system recently myself and have been quite happy with it. I also purchased an APC UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and have the Arlo base station and my cable modem/router going through it. This will keep both up for a solid hour plus without power in case there is a power hit. Picked the UPS up off of Amazon – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FWAZEIU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
We have some older Arlo cameras. Don’t get them if you have a less than stellar internet &no cell signal. Otherwise, great show.
Is there anything to shield the camera from lasers? The scum buckets use lasers to burn the cameras and they do something to mess up WiFi for a minute or two.
Any advice is much appreciated
What's wrong with being a paranoid crazy lunatic? Some of my favorite people are.
What do you think of the ring system? That is what I have, I pay 30 dollars a year. I had the arlo system first, but someone told me it was better for baby monitoring so I sent it back to QVC.
Awesome video!
Amazing video!
I'm using the Blink XT system and I'm really impressed with the system….
Is arlo like ring, record for one minute only even though activity is ongoing? And i have to take it down and recharge it, the system doesn't automatically recharge it especially for the cost quoted? Those are the things that keep us irritated with ring. Thank you.
Awesome vlog Josh and I shared the heck out of it. How's the jeep going
I've had Arlo for about a year now. Both the Arlo Pro and the Arlo Go. Some days I love them and many days I do not. The motion detection is pretty sketchy. I've missed some pretty important events that were smack dab in the middle of the camera because they weren't detected. Recently I've also had to start rebooting the cameras on a regular basis due to lost connections to the Arlo Bridge or the 4G connection (Arlo Go).
I'm liking that Arlo. I've been researching cameras for years. Was going to get a Nest, until google bought the company! I avoid goog mess, hate it. All I need is internet connected camera that notifies me immediately, lets me talk to and watch whoever triggers it, and totally control it remotely.
Thanks for the video I've been looking into cameras for the farm will definitely consider this , love your channel, I just started my own YouTube channel we are a small farm in upstate New York we raise Hereford cattle and bale hay… Thanks for the videos
Great information, Stoney. That Arlo looks really cool. Going to take a look into that one. Thanks!
What do you do when the law enforcement are the bad guys ????????????
Josh, how is your internet connection out there? Do you have problems having security cameras, etc. streaming off your wifi at once? I'm looking to get to a more rural area, but I am limited to satellite internet which would be too slow for work, security cameras, tv, etc. to all stream.
you get that hog yet?
I've seen those arlo cameras at Costco a lot. Glad you reviewed them.
Just a FYI. People might need to look into ordinances or laws about proper posting of the property if video surveillance is used. All places are different
All nice tech, Josh , but the best intruder alarms are guinea hens and peacocks – and they're tasty as well ! I agree avoidance is the best tactic but its increasingly apparent many perps either don't give a damn or seek it out . Putting them in harsh light makes for a far better sight picture !
