In this tutorial we’ll walk through the process of how to make concrete counters for an outdoor kitchen. This method can be used to make indoor concrete counters or outdoor kitchen counters. We’ll walk through the process of templating, building the molds, pouring, sanding, sealing, and installing. This is a very in-depth video on the entire process of how to make concrete counters. In this video, the concrete is polished using a basic orbital sander. Wet polishing is another option, but I have been very happy with these results.
Cost: The concrete counters were built for under $200. This includes the concrete, melamine/mold materials, screws, silicone, and everything except tools.
Weight: At 2 inches thick, the concrete counters weigh approximately 22 pounds.

Awesome build. Have you checked out Stonecoat Countertops yet ? They are a epoxy company and coat most everything. Maybe you could collaborate.
Looking good Pete! Great video showing the process start to finish.
after watching a few vids like this. There may be some concrete counters in the future of our new house.
Hi Pete, great video, is there a vid on how he built the kitchen structure?
Hey Pete! Awesome video! I always enjoy watching your projects. I’ve seen a couple of your videos of you doing concrete countertops and your coffee table and outdoor table etc. Do you ever add dye to your projects to get different hues? I was planning an outdoor kitchen to match my pool and was wanting to match the flagstone with the countertop. Didn’t know if it would be better to add dye to the concrete mix or the sealer… Thank you again!!
Awesome video..
I ran across this video and instantly became a fan! I have a question, hopefully you can advise if I should rethink the concept. I have a small basement bathroom and I planned to add a concrete top to the vanity. Your video included clear and thorough instructions plus options for a few steps. Much appreciated! I plan to install a vessel sink. I am concerned about how to insure the opening for the drain is strong and the correct size. Do you think waxed PVC pipe would be sufficient or do you have any suggestions? The project will not happen this month but it certainly is on my list. Since I can use the least utilized bathroom for practice and move the concrete from the garage to the bathroom I feel better using that for practice. It will determine if I tackle the other bathroom counter tops or hire someone to do it.
Good Job Pete! quick question, how does the bbq do on the wood? is there any type of barrier between it and the wood? I ask because Im interested in building a similar setup
Pete, that's great. Love your videos. Have you ever used GFRC? Any advice when doing so? Thanks!
Nice Pete! Great as always.
That was a great project
Hey Pete great video just curious how much it would cost to roughly to a project like this one. My patio is weak and is in need of an overhaul! 🙂
Always a precise well thought out project nice video pete 😃👍
Good job Pete. You are the concrete counter top ninja master.
Awesome job!
You said meh-surement!!
Nice property Pete.
HEY, DIY PETE: I just love it when all of my DIY friends say, “make sure it’s square”, but then they never tell me what to do if it isn’t square 😭😭😭
Seriously, this is a great tutorial. Beautiful work!! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Pete. How difficult would it be to stain the counter tops before sealing them?
I saw the thumbnail and was like whoa Pete got ripped!
Been loving these Videos Pete. I am planning on making a new desk for my office and want to make the legs out of concrete and the top out of burned pine, then epoxied over. What do you think?
Using an electric multi-tool works incredibly on the sides eliminating almost all bug holes entirely. Sawsall on the bottom without a blade does the same! Have you ever tried just a pure portland cement with multi purpose sand mixture? If not give it a try. The results are amazing!
Great instruction. They look great
