The underwater grid pulls water into the pipes and then it goes through the pump and into the waterfall filter. The gravel on the bottom of the pond works as a filter also.
What made you come up with your ideas .At least it is also zero work on the landscaping now .No lawn mowing needed .So your pipes under the gravel are like your whole pond is a bog in a way .Does those pipes push or pull water through them
