I decided to give my plain concrete patio floors some personality by painting a design on them. It was a very economical facelift that made a huge difference!
My blog post about this project: http://smallstepsdaily.blogspot.com/2012/06/concrete-patio-floor-facelift-project.html
Please ask if you have any questions as I know I didn’t cover all the details, especially the prep work beforehand, because I wanted to keep the video short.
This time I'll use woodprix instructions to make it by myself.
No description of how to prep for that painting project. You can't just get some paint and start painting, can you:?
Great place to learn how to make it yourself much much cheaper. Just google for 'woodprix' website:)
You should go to woodprix if you'd like to make it yourself guys.
This video is pointless as to how to paint a concrete patio. You need less talk about how you feel about it and more as to steps involved
I think it's beautiful; I'm looking for ideas to give my home more curb appeal and back yard love! This is perfect. I know you used a sealer but I did not hear what type of paint you used on the concrete. Also, what about the winter months when it freezes?
Hey Step,I found your blog on YouTube and I love it. We just built a house and that's what I wanted to do, with the diamond pattern. If you have any other tips since you had it down for awhile, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Lori
horrible, OCD Nightmare
Looks FABULOUS! Great idea! I Love the Big diamonds on the Back patio pictures…
Im doin it!!!
I am getting Ideas, and your listing Helped, Thanks.
I think you did a great job. My wife is whini… opps, asking me to paint our patio. I was looking for ideas and I am glad I found yours first. You're right, it doesn't have to be perfect. Thanks for sharing.
uhmmm ehh..
Great stuff! what kind of condition was your concrete in when you started..?
Di
Did you have to fill any cracks or holes?
This was inspiring! Thanks!
Thank you for sharing. Looks great!
Very cool I was just thinking about doing my floor with diamond design that I saw yours I must it's a rap.
Stephanie,
Do the painted porches get "slippery" when they are wet?
We want to paint our back porch, but we are afraid that if it gets wet, somebody could slip and fall.
Thank you.
Awesome job! It really looks beautiful. 200% better than what my brother did on his concrete deck. Love the design.
I think you did a very nice job! It's given me some ideas as I think I'll paint my patio's floor some day. Having indoor outdoor/carpeting for 23 years – it definitely needs a change.
I am about to paint my mom's patio, and I got great ideas watching your video. You are such a sweetie and I am sure Mama Honey will enjoy her new patio. Where in Alabama are yall from? We are in Birmingham. God bless your family
Hmmmm . . . I don't know. If you sealed it, it should be okay, but I'm not sure about repeated steam mopping. Try checking with Home Depot or Lowe's in the paint department first.
One suggestion — fast forward. Thanks for watching though…
Christ, shut the flip up and show us already….GOD! blah blah blah blah….
Hi Stephanie, I came across your video and was very impressed with your work. Can you use a steam mop to clean the painted concrete patio?
Awwww, thanks! It was very much worth the effort. :))
You go woman !!! fantastic !!!
Thanks for watching — it was a bit of work but well worth it!
Very cute! Great project idea. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, Colleen — it's so gooood to hear from you! Yes, I got super busy right after my last video with blah, blah, blah and just haven't gotten back into making videos. In fact, I haven't even been able to watch hardly any of them since early May. However, I'm starting to ease back in a bit here and there and hope to do a video at some point before school starts back in August. I miss y'all, but time is not my friend with all the things I've got going on these days. I hope you're doing well!
OMG, I love this Steph!! Where have you been? I haven't seen any videos from you in a while!! Miss you!! Hope you're having a great week! Hugs, Colleen xox 🙂
