I don’t know about you, but I have tons of scrap wood and this little project was a great way to use some of it! In this project I am going to make a simple wooden lantern for our living room.

Good job! Other than legitimate safety concerns, don't listen to anyone who knocks your projects. This is how you learn and build confidence. After you know this is something you like you can upgrade equipment and learn new techniques. If you ever have problems with boards splitting at the end try flattening the point of the nail with your hammer.
