I built a modern outdoor coffee table out of 2x4s. I loved how this turned out. It matches the outdoor sofa I just built (video coming soon).
This is my first video so let me know what you think/ give me a thumbs up/ subscribe as more videos are coming.
If I did this again I would:
1. Use a paint sprayer for the finish or use cedar
2. Use three 2x10s for the top since the 2x4s warped some
3. Use a darker stain
I used a table saw, orbital sander, drill/driver, miter saw and pocket hole jig. You could do this whole project with a hand saw and drill if you had to.
Cut list:
4x – 1.5×3 – 1′ 2 1/2″ – legs vertical
4x – 1.5×3 – 2′ 1/2″ – legs horizontal
1x – 1.5×3 – 3′ 10 1/2″ – bottom stretcher
7x – 1.5×3 – 4′ 5″ – slats
2x – 1.5×2.5 – 4′ 5″ – end slats
