DIY Raw Wood LED Shelf

DIY Raw Wood LED Shelf

In this video I will show you how I built this awesome one of a kind color changing raw wood LED shelf. This project can be done fairly easily if you have the proper tools! The bottom piece of wood is silver birch and the top piece of wood is pine. The thickness of the acrylic that I used was 5 mm in thickness. The wood stain that I used was “218 Puritan Pine”. The color of the shelf is changed using an IR remote. All of the pipes are 1″ in diameter.

Lorenzo Berkley says:

What where the 6 non aligned drilled holes for?

Giovanni Gomez says:

I wish I had the tools and space to make art like this… I also wish this kind of homemade stuff was up for sale

Artfully Rogue says:

What was the bit called that you used to make the wood plugs? Cool project

Lee Young says:

2 days later, lost the remote.

Gregor Rama says:

Buy $1500 equipment, more or less, and do it yourself. In the end this can cost you more than buying it ready made. The work yourself part might be fun though.

Ashton Hironaka says:

awesome video! thanks for making it, I know that it takes probably 3 times longer to do that project because you gotta set up the camera and focus, and then edit it at the end! Thanks again!

Matthew Currie says:

Yo I love your Intro

C Cannon says:

Nice job. The shelf looks pretty sweet. I hope you left easy access to that white controller box, so you can replace it when it dies next month. That model is notorious for premature failure.

Brian Buckley says:

Everything was great about your project until you ran the power cable through the wall. There is no where that I know of that with electrical codes that allows that. Low voltage wires can be run inside the wall like that, but not 120v power.

MrGhostReviews says:

2:43 that non straight cut made OCD go up a little.

KLEANTRIX says:

Great video, However I would have enjoyed listening to the machines doing the work rather than the slightly annoying music. Like I said Amazing work!

AaronGames says:

its a shame you did Not use Neopixel Led strips. but thanks for the video. I will make something like this but I will be using Neoxpixel and an Arduino board. to make it even more awesome. Anyway Cool project. i love it

mnphotoguy says:

Are you worried about the LED power supply heating up and catching on fire? It looks like you enclosed it in the shelf. (Is that correct?) Ive heard of encasing it in Aluminum to combat that… Just curious. Nice looking RGB LED shelf.
