Your such a pussy shut up!!!!!!!!!
damn so rx8s are the only cars you can do this mod on?
there's a reason why the aem and mazdaspeed intakes cost so much. I've had some friends who done this exact removal. on the airbox. there are no gains at all. it's hard to cheap rx8 mods and get gains. We don't own civics.
Thanks for sharing, G.j. on doing the research. It makes sense to remove that plastic.
Hol up the engine is cooling upπ
Why risk the engine with a KN filter? Speedsource racing team:
We ran a K&N style for a few races just because I thought this
technology was the best. It made about 1 more hp on the dyno than
paper. So we ran it. We also toasted two motors at Daytona and one at
Homestead running the Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series. When we pulled
these motors apart we found (drum roll) sand blasted rotor housings
where the air would enter the intake ports. Switched over to paper, ran
both these tracks again and the witness marks were gone. Problem
fixed. David also confirmed that he had saw this before also.
I wish my 8 had the stock airbox, mine came with that $300 intake but it is really a waste of money, these rotary engines really come with all the power you can get out of one with adding a turbo. adding an air intake and a catback exhaust are for looks and sound only, in fact some intakes and exhausts actually rob horsepower
just one thing i noticed, make it a habit of depressing the crutch whenever you start it. that way, you putting less stress on the engine, not that it matters a lot but a rx-8 rotary engine car, it sure goes a long way into staying out of trouble! lol
Can I do it on my Toyota celiac
Don't even own an rx8 yet alone my own car but I enjoyed the vid nice job and makes me even more interested in the car world. I plan on studying auto collison and all that and you really inspire me.
