Before carrying on with my Axial Yeti XXL, I want to make sure I have proper workstand to make working on it more comfortable and enjoyable. This is a very simple project to make on your x-carve.
I have made the drawings avaialble through Easel over in the following links. It should be easy to add your own logos, modify the size and shape, and add trays to your need.

I was very skeptical at first. I did not have high hopes on getting the machine to run, or even being to be able to use it for something with an RC application without being a true headache. Turns out I was worried about nothing. I’m no poster boy. I still don’t sugarcoat anything. Positive reviews or leaving out negative aspects of a product by trying to persuade me in any shape or form are just not me. So I will just say it flat out: this X-Carve kicks some serious ass! So far I’ve machined Delrin and carbonfiber, it will in the future even be used for aluminium, and it just doesn’t stop to amaze me. To put it like this: for the kind of cash I spend on a cellphone you can get one of these. Seeing the possibilities it offers it’s a pretty amazing concept, and most importantly (for me as a novice in CNC) exceptionally user friendly.
If you haven’t understood it to the fullest from the video, from here on out you will see projects occur on my channel which I made using the X-Carve. On the Inventables website all drawings and a written description will be made available, free to use. This means what I’m making in my video, you can make at home, or at a friend’s home, or at work, anywhere you have an X-Carve available.
What I do and try to explain in my videos is for you to have fun with, to hopefully inspire you, and to share with like minded people. This device just opened up an entirely new era in what is possible.
Any questions, as always, just shoot them in the comments box and I will try my best to answer them.

The electronics I’m running are a proven set up: the Castle Creations Mamba Monster 2 2200KV combo. Axial has put a similar setup, although rebranded, in the Yeti XL RTR, and after seeing several videos of it running I am thoroughly impressed. The Yeti is a large rig, with considerable weight, and a high torque system like this one will make it capable on a lot of different surfaces and in a variety of circumstances.

After having bad luck with a few of my more recent LiPos by Venom, I’m switching to a rather new brand called Dinogy Batteries. Dinogy offers a ton of different packs, for all sorts of applications, and for every budget. The Yeti XL will be tested on 4S first, so I opted for two Dinogy 2S 6500 mAh 65C packs to get the job done. These specs are impressive if you consider the cost, and I’m pretty confident they’ll be up to the task, as Dinogy has been building a reputation for themselves in demanding applications.

The steering servo I selected is fairly middle-of-the-road, I installed a HiTec HS-7954SH. It delivers some decent torque, good speed and has good hold power, basically everything required to get those huge rims to point in the right direction.
