This was my first attempt at drywalling a whole and it turned out really good. I used 1/2″ ultralight drywall, which was light enough for me to move around by myself. Enjoy!

Was that fire rated sheetrock…I believe calif. code requires 5/8" fire resistant drywall in the garage…Hope you never sell the house.
