RŕtŕHELP WITH CAMER IN OUT SIDE

AKBuilder762 says:

If you're putting together a security camera system and need a hard drive check out Western Digital Purple series. These are specifically designed for continuous recording. A regular computer HD will go bad quick cause it's not designed to work continuously.
Also, get the largest capacity you can afford. That will allow you to have more cameras recording at once and require you to format the HD less often.
Example..5 cameras continuously recording 1080p for 2 weeks straight requires a 4TB HD which costs around $130. Of course you can configure the cameras to record only when they detect motion which will save space.

I have a nest cam inside the house and that thing works great. It sends text and video as soon as it see's or hears anything. You can also pay a fee and the video will be stored for 30 days or so. Only down fall is that it uses a lot of data if you run it 24/7. If you have unlimited data then its not an issue. I also have a 16 channel nightowl system for outside. The cameras and the dvr itself work great. Their app..Fn sux.. let me say that again.. the app Fn sux…and nightowl doesn't seem to be interested in fixing it either. it disconnects every time you exit the cameras. That is if it connects at all. I also have ADT and I use driveway motion sensors with a bark box inside all around the perimeter of the house…and last but not least are my dogs who are good about barking ! Even when I wish they wouldn't. having all that.. I still feel like I haven't done enough..and my wife …thinks everything will "be Ok'……drives me spastic !!

William Monell says:

@John Lovell do you have any suggestions for somone living in an apartment

freeze1617 says:

you forgot to mention that the information recorded on the cameras is then sold to google, facebook amazon etc letting them know what your habits are. and on the other end there are 100 geeks noting what your buying habits are. dont believe me dont have too. but information is the most valuable thing the companies want

albou1 says:

Loves these cameras. The infrared camera works without a light you can adjust the sensitivity out to 100" and adjust the duration of recording with no monthly fees. I love the real-time alert to my cell phone and tablet. Thanks John for the recommendation!!

Chris Miller says:

You might also consider Arlo Pro. 1080P cameras that use rechargeable batteries or wired. Free Cloud storage. Swivel magnet mounts.

that burglar was actually hungry and he was breaking into people's homes looking for his favorite treat: aloha snackbars.

SLG1911 says:

I think a big concern with any wifi system is that these days it is pretty easy to hack into it and use your cameras to see in your house. I'd like to be wrong, but so far, I've stayed away from wifi cameras becasue of it.

Mike Morrison says:

That little video of you knocking on the door and pressing the doorbell while holding an AK-47, was hilarious!

John marshall says:

Hey John, love your videos. Do you think we could get a warrior poet book review of the white donkey. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Moz says:

John John John, ?. Why buy something when you can build a sniper nest in your neighbours tree across the road and lay in wait for 10 hrs while scratching a poem into a rock ? Just in case. Have I taught you nothing, what happened to the Train Smart, I'm disappointed. 😏

Jason Lessard says:

Show us more. Show how the app works, show some camera images. Full review please.

matt stovall says:

Jon, everything is cool that you present, just an FYI use the term inexpensive instead of cheap. It just sounds weird.
Keep up the good work.

My gunshop got broke into about two weeks ago. Cameras didn’t stop it but definitely helped in getting the punk caught.

Marine Machine says:

Last year i had some people break into my truck, stole my brand new Costas(that's my fault, i shouldn't have left them in there). Before they broke in, they shot the motion sensor lights out with a B.B. gun.
