I really love how minimalistic the shelves above the countertops are attached to the walls. I'd like to copy this style for my grandparents house which I'm renovating right now. Does anyone have an idea how it's done? Do you glue them, use dowels, screws, angle jonts to make them sturdy enough for havier staff? Mine would also be on the two corners of the only wall with a window in the kitchen.
Do you think ripping the 2×4's in half to make it look more thin and streamlined would still be strong enough?
Fuck slime and ASMR videos…HomeMadeModern is literally the most satisfying channel out there! Keep doing what you're doing Ben π
Ben. I love your videos but I worry about the ergonomics. Why do you work hunched over on the floor so often? You're young but I think you'll feel it in your body down the road π Just want you to take care of yourself. Thanks for fantastic content and ideas though.
Half speed is like hearing someone tell the story of a build, but at the bar while he is shit-faced XD
The beared guy ain't did a shit…
Dude, your video egged me on to make my own kitchen units, be it mine is lot more complex. I'll also be making my own counter top, butcher block, using homemade simple bar clamps. Btw, i'd appreciate all your feedback as i am doing this, i'll upload it on my channel if you can give me your feedback, here is the planning part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_t6PXoqM9I
Thanks!
So awesome. I'm not that handy, I think I'll choose a simpler project of yours, and buy the kitchen from IKEA. Hahaha
wouldn't it be better to use marble for the countertop instead of concret?
How many hours have u done to finish all works?
go to ……… chemicals, get some boric acid powder [industrial grade]
sprinkle some in the void between the floor and the bottom of the
assembly as well as at the back of the drawer well and wherever you cant
reach or clean easily [maybe the top part of the assembly] and you will
NEVER have a cockroach or fishmoth problem from that part of your
kitchen. whilst you are at it sprinkle some behind and underneath your
fridge, oven and inside the db [the stuff will not burn] dishwasher or
whatever.
boric acid is less toxic than table salt and will not harm your kids or pets – termites also succumb to it…. did not God order us to "… have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."? gen 1:26
Real nice! I like the open fronts. I may do similar for a hifi cabinet. Something 'Broken Sword' about the commentary, just me probably π
He is a dream BF. All the men I know wont even install a door or window. Great video. Im going to do my kitchen just like this but as the island instead. I love it!

http://www.homemade-modern.com/ep86-kitchen-cabinets/
I love the simplicity and minimalism, but I don't like open cabinets. I wish you guys show how you would make those.
How many of each size board was used to complete all of the cabinets? The plan doesn't specify
Great work mate …
In the house were purchasing it has dark blue (yikes) cabinets on one wall with the dishwasher and sink. So were going to paint those white. On the other wall it has random awkward book shelving all around the stove. This will look pretty awesome over there to fill things out. I dont mind the openness but this will definitely make things easier for my one year old to destroy the kitchen. Like you said, i could add doors… Awesome job
Totally awesome. I will be epically failing at this
Where did you learn how to do all of this?
Open cabinet are nice for people who not like to cook, but for those household that always cook might be oily every where. Although open cabinet is not a main stream but it has a unique character.
perfect job.i want it.
