On cruiser motorcycles that don't do a lot of turning at highway speeds, ape hangers evidently take a lot of pressure off of the lower back by allowing you to sit upright comfortably for long distances.
I'm surprised no one mentioned the long swing arms on sport bikes and supermotos. Works on drag races and hill climbs respectively, but to use on public roads? *shrugs.
If you want to be lighter riding your motorcycle, do some fucking jumping jacks instead of getting that carbon shit

My rear brakes shorted out one day and after someone telling me I started manually signaling.(closed fist with your arm to the side) I guess no one knew what I was saying because they kept coming beside me to tell me what I already knew….Glad I stuck to the sides otherwise I might've had a bad day!
You make a great point about carbon. I say the same thing about carbon bicycles. Guys will spend $10,000 on a carbon bike instead of dropping 15 pounds off their own body weight.

We know, sport bikers do not modify there bike. There is not much you can modify on the sport bike. However I agree for those stupid handle bars. Harder to control and beside that is on the name of fucking fashion it could be dangerous

I did my halos for about $30. I think with 4 HID kits, projectors retrofitted into high beams, and halos it comes out a little over $100. Just do it yourself, be proud of something you made and save money.

Love ape hangers, very comfortable and they do not reduce performance or handling. Maybe if you have T-rex arms or something they might give you trouble idk. Of course I do see some that are ridiculously high that have to be a pain in a the butt but up to 16" or so it's actually really nice. Mine are 14.

I beg to differ on upgraded lighting. HID lighting is a great upgrade, but maybe you only meant halo/demon eye specifically. I love HID projectors lights on my Acura. My SV650 had shit headlight stock. Had to ride around with high beam at night. HID lights are a great upgrade for WAY better visibility.
