If you know why Pavers fail then you can build them to LAST! The 4 causes of Paver Failure is from bad base, Horizontal, Vertical & rotational failure. Some of these cross over into why Both Asphalt and Concrete fail as well. We discuss this simply enough to help anyone avoid these issues.
pavers are a royal pain in the aa$$$
Those lines weren't straight at all on the paver driveway. It did hold up I'll give you that
Loved you on Game of Thrones!
Wearing a Ridgid sweater….has shop full of Milwaukee tools…as it should be.
3:03 that driveway is all over the place dude. Not a straight in sight! Dips and weaves.
I wanted to watch more, but between your face – probably just the queer beard and dickhead haircut – the constant jump-cut "I'm a professional T.V. show" feel and your forced vocal energy, I couldn't do it. You're probably a good guy and know what you're talking about, but you should loose the fratboy look and just be yourself, less is more. I'm reminded of the wisdom of En Vogue, "Free yo mind… and the rest will follow.
Great tips!
You look like you are becoming a sellout on particular tool brands.
Even though you still have a low subcount, it looks like you sold out to the big man.
I work at a major home improvement store in their building materials department. I learned more in this video than in all of my training combined. Thank you!
1:40 — Time flies, don't it?
On those 2,500 year old roads, most of the work of building them went into the base. Underneath the pavers were usually 4 layers: sand or compacted earth, crushed rock, cement and gravel, and sand, cement and gravel. There was some variation in different regions (the Roman Empire was big) but they paid a LOT of attention to this part of it.
Is this Richard Rawlings brother
Perfect timing for this video since my plan is to replace my current 20' x 40' patio with a paver one.
You look EXACTLY like the kinda guy who would have a faux snakeskin interior in his car
Well I'm convinced, going to build a wooden deck.
set pavers over concrete….quit wasting time on putting pavers on sand!
I always watch your videos. Your doing a great job. Lots of helpful info. Saving money and time. Thanks and God bless.
good info sir, thank you for sharing
Like long term relationship, it's all about the base !
On the point of concrete; Back when the New Deal was made, there was a big highway boom. In the Midwest red gravel was mined from Wyoming and was used to make concrete for the US highway system. There are roads out in Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, North and South Dakota that to this day are still being used that have this material, and many of them look only 5- 10 years old. If applied correctly and with the right materials, concrete does have longevity. It is the construction technique that has developed a short lived concrete, one that requires upkeep and replacement. Why make a material that lasts a lifetime when you can make a product that people have to pay for regular maintenance?
Thanks for the information.
All good stuff, thank you (and it's a thumbs up from me) but your statement regards concrete is fundimentally incorrect as the Summerians, Byzantines and, later, the Romans built using concrete and their concrete still stands today.
I learned a lot. Thank you!
The sexual reference was entire unnecessary.
I stopped watching when bedding sand was mentioned, always always always use stone dust.
Did anyone else notice the snake skin car interior!!!! Pretty fly!
