acid flux is worth mentioning,, helps with cleaning
Flux also is an acid it cleans the copper coats the copper to prevent oxidation while soldering and aid in capillary action
slow down !!!!!
How much soldier solder should be used
Thank you for the video!
I am in a high school program that teaches us carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing. We are starting plumbing in ten days, and I figured I'd learn some before we switch.
This will help greatly, so thank you.
Tremendo video muchas gracias…
Should the joints be wiped with a clean rag after the sanding and whire brush?
Great vid! I really didn’t know how to do it but now I have a better idea of what the flux is used for!
Great Video
This is literally by far the best video for know how I have ever seen. No horseshit, just straight down to facts. Thumbs up all the way!!
Great video.Im not going to get into how "my way of doing things is better".We ALL have a certain way of doing things after we learn the basics.Your video is one of the basics.
Thanks for being motivated in taking the time to share some vocational skills.
That said……..only as a public service announcement to all who are new to the trade(s)
and want to maintain a solid reputation as someone that does the job right, never cuts corners
and always uses the best materials. Ready? NEVER EVER show up with type "M" copper.
Type "M" copper has a red stripe and red print running along it from end to end.Type "M" copper develops pin hole leaks in it eventually because of many reasons, but mostly because it is thinner. It should be considered as an unacceptable material for use as a plumbing supply product anywhere. Type "L", blue stripe and blue print works just fine if you are in fact running copper pipe. Cost a little more but worth every penny.
Why do all Americans think the L in Solder is silent you wouldn’t pronounce silent with a silent L could someone explain to me please I’m not being horrible or nasty and definitely not being a thick assed limey even though my pasty white skin hurts when there is a tiny bit of sun. Kind regards.
Man! They guy that put my hot h2o heater in wS a SLOPPY ASS SWEATER: solderer. Shht running down like candle wax.
Never us leaded solder. Lead is awful stuff
Great video! I have not sweat soldered in quite a few years. So in either 1st time user or review the video was very good. Especially the point about heating from the bottom first and flux cleaning too quickly; just wiping should be sufficient after cool down. Thanks again!
