The county inspector came out today and failed me on three points. two of the three points were easy fixes but one of the issues I worried would turn into a huge issue. It turned out to be an easy fix. We are now cleared to move forward with Tyvek and windows…

Inspectors with the desire to inhibit your ability to do your own work on your own property are low-lifes.

Vicky Shambo says:

He is conceited and jealous. Hang tough

Greg D says:

Matt Lane says:

osb sucks…

No NAME says:

God Bless you and your new house, I pray God will Bless you ,your family and house for many years in the name of Jesus Christ Amen

Donald Taylor says:

It's because of jealousy I deal with those guys all the time

Arthur Martinez says:

Great job I would love to build me a house. I don't know everything about building a house but I've been a roofer for over 30 years. Most inspectors will help you out. Again great job.

Cotronixco says:

I think people are referring to two different things here. Corrugated roofing should never have screws in the valleys. But Pro-Rib sheeting should always have the screws on the flats.

Scott Johnson says:

I had a two year struggle with an inspector, and had to get a lawyer to push my project across the board. I felt the same way, the inspector is there to help me and is sincere… LOL you fell for it too. Don't try to figure out inspectors, and never trust anyone! Remember Jesus trusted Judas, and Hitler trusted Himmler. Anyone can turn on you, so don't tell people stuff in confidence, keep it to yourself.

Patriot4TheTree says:

You do not understand, because you are not a miserable cunt, who enjoys making everyone around them miserable too. We live in a society today, where through social media, people can watch other people, in many cases very near and dear to them, fail. And this makes them feel good and warm inside. People like to see others fail. They want others to be as miserable as they are. People like you and I are open with others because we self project and think that everyone else would obviously want us to be successful because we want them to be successful. They do not. They are miserable cunts. People are overrated and unfortunately, decent friends are like unicorns.

Man Of Arms says:

I know exactly what you’re saying about negative energy, when I built my shed, my friend came over just to find mistakes. I couldn’t understand why. It probably was a power struggle.

CPUDOCTHE1 says:

If you are talking about the strong barn type of corrugated steel, DO NOT PUT SCREWS IN THE VALLEY. The valley is NOT flat and it will leak and dam water up above the screw. If you are using the multi-rib with ribs 6-9" apart and mostly flats between, you can screw on the flats and only screw in the rib on the overlaps. When I built my house, I put shingles on it since steel roofs were not very popular back then but have had a steel roof put on since. When I built my shop, all of the steel was custom cut to length by the factory. I only had to cut the holes for doors and windows, and made one cut on the end piece to match the slope of the roof and got another piece from the cut on the other end of the building. I had ZERO inspections where I built my house.

Jennifer Oviawe says:

I'm proud of you. You did it yourself which is more than most people could say. And it's a blessing because all those corrections is where you learn and you will always remember how to do it. Good job. And props to you to tell us your mistakes cause most people like myself are prideful. I'll learn from you.

He wanted to help you because you are good people. The things is people that do it all the time deliberately do that take short cuts.

T Smith says:

I have used corrugated tin on a barn before and put the screws in the ridges….., we still had some leaking which we remedied with a sealant on the screws later. I don't like corrugated metal…., don't like the look or the performance. Standing seam with gasketed screws have proven to be 100% for me on a number of projects now……., plus I really like the look as well.

youtubiente70 says:

I know an inspector in Irvine California who, when he arrives and looks at a nail that is not in his place, turns around and says you're not ready. I will return later. That's a pain in your ass. Nobody says anything because it gets worse and the jobs take longer to pass the inspection. The good thing is that the weather does not affect much.

Tomas Hope says:

Well I can assure you that whatever problem that person has with you it is only growing by the minute, and especially considering you're only putting one side of it out to the world.. I'm 53 years old and if life has taught me anything at all it has absolutely taught me that there is always two sides to every story, and simply telling one side of the story never does the truth any justice, and unfortunately I feel like your problems with this gentleman are absolutely not going to go away, and especially with you jabbering away about it on you tube, and telling only one side of the story at that for all of the world to weigh in on,and fact if anything it's only going to make things all the worse..It doesn't really make a lot of sense coming from a man who says he doesn't waste his own valuable time making other people's lives miserable..Here is my question friend what is your endgame then, and if your objective here with all of this one-sided liars jondra isn't Payback, what is it then. furthermore if it's your honest attempt at reconciliation why then are you not sitting down with this man in private,or at least allowing him to per take in your rant. Surely you know this man's supervisors are capable of seeing this rant on YouTube then lending Credence to your comments,,,and very possibly not in his favor either if they are to believe everything you say, which in itself is also very possible simply going on your word… at any rate you still preach on about your precious time, and all I got to say is go figure you would think a man in your position,I mean trying to put a homestead together and all would be out to make all the friends he could, and it seems to me you're doing just the opposite.. who cares about a little bit of hoopla mullarkey between two grown men. Which will eventually take care of itself. People disagree all the time, and so who are you to expect a man to cave in on his morals, or overlook your poor craftsmanship just because you say your good friends.. if he's truly your friend he'll point out you're wrongs, and then try to help you with them.. I'm glad I'm not your friend by the way you speak it will cost me tremendously evidently hasn't anyone ever said to you friends don't always say what you want to hear but if they're a friend I'll say it anyway especially if it's detrimental to your dreams, and building a house is pretty much every man's dream. Did it ever occur to you that maybe he just wants you to do a good job so it will be there forever, and keep you and your family safe. Scratch that did it ever occur to you that if you are truly someone's friend you want air your dirty laundry on public lines,,, have a good day talkin gent…
