3 Car Monitor Style Garage Plans – My DIY Dream Garage Build – Introduction – HD

I designed and built my 3-story 3-car garage by myself from foundation to siding in only a few months. I took videos and timelapse of the entire project from start to finish.

Stavros Kontos says:

And I thought I was the only one using Google Sketchup instead od AutoCad! Good work man!!!!

Dan Malone says:

is there anything that you would change in your design??? I have watched all of your videos and I have taken a few ideas from your videos, thanks. I am looking at putting up a two car garage with a three season porch above it this summer. enjoyed your videos, keep putting them out…

Landon Colston says:

Wonderful video, have you gotten around to installing a lift? I have been recently looking at some myself for future ideas and they seem to run around $1.5-3K for a decent 10K pound truck capable lift, so nowhere near as expensive as I originally thought. This video has given me good ideas for my own future design plans.

I want this for m y house. live in the top.  Office workspace in the middle.  Garage on the bottom.  I'd be one happy little hermit.

qazwas2001 says:

This isn't a garage… It is a man-fortress.

My Garage Build says:

Thanks for watching! A laser transit would have been nice! My buddy, who builds pools has one, I have used them before.

Ruben Rojas says:

For Mr. David Hammon, I am a carpenter (Licensed General Contractor) here on the west coast and the layout instrument of choice is PLS "Pacific Laser System". The finest in layout tools. Great video so far, thank you for sharing all your hard work.

LinuXX says:

garage? i will rather say house!

ubiquitous9 says:

I just want to say thank you very much. I'm an aspiring DIY'r and you've been an inspiration. I stumbled upon your channel while researching the Rockwell Jawhorse and have since been tuning into your garage build chronicles. What a great idea! You also have a few vids trying to explain your actions to a few naysayers which is unfortunate. I hope that negative feedback won't sway you from making more videos because they're one of a kind… really. Thanks again

My Garage Build says:

David, That sounds like a nice transit. I didn't use any layout instruments. We (the concrete guy) and me did use a string pulled off the house to get the garage parallel with the house. Thanks for watching all my videos that's quite a feat in it's self! 🙂

David Hammon says:

I have been working on plans for a garage of my own. Althouh my garage will be three bays like yours, it will only be one floor. I've watched all your videos on the construction of your garage, and find them very informative. What layout instruments did you use? I have a David White ALT6-900 Level-Transit that I will be using for my build.

My Garage Build says:

I used google sketchup

My Garage Build says:

Yeah this was about 40k all said and done. Siding was wicked expensive, and the foundation was as well.

drumboy1977 says:

This is awesome!! I'm trying to do the samething at my parents place.
How much did it cost you to do this, I like to budget my self before I start.

My Garage Build says:

Thanks Jeepy. I wasn't sure if i'd be able to pull it off, but I liked how it came out. Thanks for switching over to the new channel.! 🙂
