Would you live in a treehouse? The appeal is obvious to any kid, but it can seem like a daunting idea for adults. Nevertheless, cultural interest has erupted in recent years. You can vacation at a “treesort,” or watch a reality show about treetop architecture, or even rent a room in a treehouse on Airbnb.
In this short documentary, we interview people who build, live in, and love treehouses. These are far from the forts of childhood memory, though. They employ artificial limbs for support, boast both plumbing and running water, and wouldn’t look out of place in luxury lifestyle magazines. “Treehouses are becoming more and more adult,” says Michael Garnier, a treehouse building pioneer. “They’re not just for kids anymore.”

I think living in trees is the smartest idea. With all the flooding around certain areas is a much economic to stay off the ground and won't have to keep repairing every year.

I love these houses, especially the bigger ones. Just tell me, please, what happens when there's a huge storm, thunderstorm, gale force winds, heavy rains, etc. What happens if thunder strikes the tree, does it set the house on fire? What precautions do you do to prevent the house from total destruction in a huge storm?
